Cycle to your bike race or drive with a bike car rack

While not every race is close enough to cycle to, even when it is, once you have a car rack, it becomes a lot easier to drive to the race.

It's funny that you can be lazy in getting to a cycling race, but then again a lot of us drive to the gym too.
